Disney Dreams and the Real World.
A quickish update on what’s been going on in my world.
This week I’ve been dealing with a lot of family issues. Relating to my sister being very ill and me having to liason with the NHS and the Police. But now that my niece, Ciara is safe at my mum’s, that’s another worry off my mind. Lately I’ve also been re-kindling my inner child by indulging her with pure disney. I’ve just finished watching The Little Mermaid and Mulan was a favorite the other day. When buying Ciara a doll in The Disney Store I pondered over getting a few dvd’s. But it seems the only technology that hasn’t advanced pricewise is the Disney brand. At £14.99 per dvd it’s a very expensive investment. Which makes me think about the way we expect things to be.
I very much believe that it was Walt Disney’s ideal of every girl becomes a Princess, finds a Prince and lives happily ever after in a Castle truely played apart in my expectations today. Sure I am slightly material but then who doesn’t take pleasure in consumerism?
Anywhoo, right now in my life I have a Prince who makes me feel so loved that I couldn’t really ask for anything else. Well maybe some Uggs
In other news I was shocked at the results of a recent fitting. It seems I’ve lost weight. I didn’t believe the assistant nor the label untill I put on my super high pants today to find they were too big! This is a sucess as I’ve not only gone down a back size but also lost some weight around my stomach, which is a hard area for me. It may just be the Paul Mackenna food philosophy that’s done it. And a few pounds of the waist in a month is good going.
Basically it’s all about listening to your body. It actually will tell you it’s full but we are so in the western world that we (I know I do) will wolf down/finish a plate rather than leave anything behind. This is all about pausing, and seeing if the belly is happy with that smaller portion. With the current results going that way I think I could lose a significant amount by xmas with regular exercise, laughs*
Dave is currently enjoying a Stag Do at a casino which I think is great because it’s avoiding the strippers/lap dancers. I always thought I would be one of those woman who isn’t bothered by it. But there’s something about your man getting touched up and physically spewwed over by some wench in her tiny thong. Sure it’s a job and it’s an industry but why do go there when my man can get a better dance and extra’s PLUS dinner at home
So while one man is out and the other is casually enjoying a night in his bedroom with two woman. I am going to retire to mine with Gonzo, Yuki and some Geisha’s. Paint my toe-nails and smile about roast dinner tomorrow at said parent’s home.
